Tryciecky was born and raised in Southeastern Pennsylvania.  Through his early years, Tryciecky lived within minutes of historic Philadelphia, Valley Forge, and Mill Grove (the residence of John D. Audubon).  Proximity to these sites fostered a love of history in young Tryciecky.

Tryciecky is the youngest of three children and a first generation American.  His parents fled Nazi and communist oppression and immigrated to the United States from Ukraine in 1950.

Tryciecky is a graduate of Montgomery County Community College with an Associate of the Arts in Secondary Education (cum laude), Millersville University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelors of Science in Education - Comprehensive Social Studies/History (cum laude), Lesley University with a Masters of Education in Technology Education, and Spouthern Wesleyan University with a Masters of Education in Administration and Supervision.  He is endorsed in Social Studies, Gifted and Talented education, AP Economics, Tier 1 Secondary Principal, and trained in IB Economics, IB ITGS, IB CAS, IB ToK and IB Coordination. Tryciecky has also received certification in Social Studies through the National Board of Professional Teaching Standards.

Tryciecky has been teaching since 1996.  He has been teaching at Orangeburg-Wilkinson High School since 1999.  Tryciecky currently serves as Social Studies Instructor and Website Manager. He previously served as International Baccalaureate Diploma Program Coordinator, the Creativity, Action and Service Co-coordinator, Honors Program Co-coordinator and Social Studies Department Chair.
