Kittie Moss Fairey Educational Fund - Scholarship Program

Criteria: Applicants must be high school seniors who reside in S.C., must be enrolled in a South Carolina High School; must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale through the spring 2016 semester; must have a combined SAT score of 1800 or composite ACT score of 26; applicant's parents must have a house adjusted income not exceeding $40,000; and applicants must be planning to attend an accredited, four-year college or university located in South Carolina.

South Carolina Junior Golf Foundation Scholarship Program

Criteria: Applicants must be high school seniors OR undergraduates in a South Carolina college or university; applicants must have a cumulative GPA of 2.75 on a 4.0 scale through the spring 2016 semester; be a resident of South Carolina; have a competitive or recreational interest in golf and applicants must plan to attend an accredited public or private, four-year college or university located in South Carolina in the fall of 2017.

Harry Hampton Scholarship 

Criteria: Applicants must be high school seniors who plan to purse a degree in natural resources (i.e. wildlife biology, fisheries biology, forestry or marine science) however agriculture, general biology, pre-medical biology, and veterinary science are NOT eligible curricula.

Award: 4 year; $5,000 per year [as long as he/she maintains a cumulative GPA of 2.5]

Horatio Alger Scholarship (National & State Scholarships)

Criteria: Applicants must be enrolled full-time as a high school senior in the U.S., progressing towards graduation in spring/summer of 2016 and plan to enroll in college in the U.S. no later than the fall (2016) following graduation; exhibit a strong commitment to pursue and complete a bachelors degree at an accredited non-profit public or private institution in the U.S.;be in involved demonstrate critical financial need ($55,000 or lower adjusted gross family income is required); display integrity and perseverance in overcoming adversity; hold a minimum GPA of 2.0 and be a U.S. citizen.

Rodney Allen Williams "Encouraging Community Service" Scholarship 

Criteria: Applicants must be a graduating high school senior from a public high school in OCSD 5; applicants must have the recommendation of his/her teacher, school counselor and one member from of the community; be accepted to attend an accredited post-secondary institution of education (college/university, or technical school) in the U.S., applicants must write an essay 1-3 page "double-spaced" length paper from the topic: How have you affected the lives of others with community service and what effect has community service had in your life?; must be of good moral character and reputation and must have lost a family member and provide a copy of the deceased obituatary, death certificate or newspaper article.

All essays, letters of recommendations, and applications become the property of the Rodney A. Williams Scholarship Fund. Once the selection process is complete, all documentation submitted by applicants not selected will be destroyed.

Orangeburg County Chamber of Commerce Scholarship

Criteria: Applicants must be high school seniors qualifying for graduation at the end of the current school session; have recommendations from a high school teacher, an administrator, and a citizen of the community as well as a copy of high school transcript and be a resident of Orangeburg County or attend school in Orangeburg County and be of good moral character and reputation. Application must be complete, transcript must have school seal and three-letters of recommendations.

 

The Elks National Foundation - Most Valuable Student Scholarship

Criteria: Applicants must be high school seniors who are citizens of the United States and plan to attend an accredited four-year post-secondary institution of higher education.

Award: Two first-place awards of $50,000; Two second-place awards of $40,000; and Two third-place awards of $30,000. The remaining 14 finalists will receive awards of $20,000. The 480 runners-up will receive fifth-place scholarships of $4,000.

GE-REAGAN FOUNDATION Scholarship PROGRAM

High school seniors who demonstrate exceptional leadership, drive, integrity, and citizenship are invited to apply for the 2017 GE-Reagan Foundation Scholarship Program. This program annually provides college-bound students with $10,000 renewable scholarships-up to $40,000 total per recipient–and supports them as they lead and serve in college and beyond.

The Cleophas Screven Memorial Scholarship Fund

The Cleophas Screven Memorial Scholarship will award two $1000.00 scholarship annually to graduating high school students who will attend a two or four year college/university.

Marian Garrett Student Scholarship

SCAEOP presents an annual scholarship of $1000 to a deserving high school graduating senior planning to pursue a college degree in the business fieldd.  Applicants must complete an SCAEOP Application, write a one-page biographical sketch on "Why I am Choosing a Career in Business".  Applicant must secure 3 letters of recommendations; from a school administrator or counselor, bluishness teacher and someone other than a SCAEOP or family member. Also submit an official HS transcript. 

Criteria: (1) applicant must be a graduating high school senior.(2) must have a "C" average or better and "B" average or better in high school business courses. (3) plan to attend a post-secondary (accredited) college/university in the fall. (4) be a US citizen and SC resident.

2017 Journalism Contest

The winner of the 2017 Journalism Contest receives a four-year scholarship to the South Carolina state-supported institution of his or their choice provided, of course that the winner is otherwise qualified.  The scholarship pays for undergraduate tuition and fees.  The winner must be able to verify financial need to the chosen state-supported institution by completing the FAFSA.

Criteria: (1) must be 16 to 19 years old and a SC resident. (2) must not have entered a post-secondary school before March 1, 2017.   (3) must be a high school senior and plan to enter a post-secondary school no later than the 2017-2018 school year.

2017 SCATA Scholarship Announcement 

 The South Carolina Association of Title I Administrators will award eighteen scholarships for deserving students. Qualifying seniors have the opportunity to compete for a $2,000 (first place) or one of two $1,000 (second and third places) scholarships. Three scholarships will be awarded in each of the six regions.

  Application Dates:   High Schools should send completed applications to the Title I district coordinators no later than Friday, January 6, 2017. (District coordinators have the discretion to set an earlier deadline.)

  • The district coordinator will select one application and forward it to the SCATA regional representative on or before Friday, January 20, 2017.
  • Recipients and schools will be notified of scholarship awards on or before Friday, February 24, 2017. Winners will be recognized in March of 2017.

THE LYNX SCHOLARSHIP

The Lynx Scholarship Committee will award book scholarships valued at $500.00 to Graduating Seniors planning
to enroll in a Historically Black College or University (HBCU) in the Fall of 2017. Applicants must write an
original essay based on the displayed topic, complete the application form below, and meet other eligibility
requirements as outlined. Please clearly print or type requested information.

The South Carolina Education Association-Retired Scholarship

The scholarship is awarded annually and is designed to encourage promising young people to prepare for careers in education at an accredited four-year college or university in South Carolina.

SCAEAP offers a $1,000.00 scholarship to students pursuing a career in the secretarial science, computer science

2017 South Carolina Bar Young Lawyers Division is sponsoring an Instagram Scholarship competition to encourage you to actively participate in your government.  The winning participant will be awarded a $2,000 scholarship.

The New America Leadership Scholarship recognizes the achievements of young people who are making a difference and helps them realize there educational goals.
